Course Feedback
Viola from CorpSec services has developed a fantastic course for ASIC Registered Agents and has been offering a training webinar to our CAS360 clients for almost a year. With her wealth of knowledge in this specialised field, many of our clients have benefited from the webinar. BGL is very excited to learn that the webinar has now been developed into a comprehensive self-paced eLearning course which can be completed at your own pace at any time
This course has been developed by a practicing ASIC registered agent, specifically for other registered agents. It combines in one course, a diverse range of topics to equip those undertaking corporate secretarial services with confidence. The course is not software dependent and is not software training. It focuses on governance practices, regulatory requirements, ASIC lodgements and tips and tricks to assist ASIC agents in their role. Over 450 ASIC registered agents, company secretarial officers, responsible officers and ASIC administrators attended the webinar on ‘The Responsible ASIC Registered Agent’. Now the content has been expanded and is offered in this self-paced eLearning course with 15 CPD hours of training.
Thoroughly enjoyed the course and taking away a lot of useful practical knowledge to be able to implement. The course has confirmed we as a practice are doing well but can improve. I have a huge list of ideas and implementation suggestions… now to get started. A well thought out course schedule and program. Simplified a very technical area to be easily understood and absorbed. Thank you
Thank you so much for this course. It was invaluable as i now feel so much more confident in the processes we have established and have the knowledge to prepare for what is to come
I found the course great for updating knowledge in dealing with ASIC. The part in the coming director ID’s was very interesting. I enjoyed the course in reviewing my knowledge
Excellent! Very thorough, good use of practical examples, the supporting slides/notes/resources are very comprehensive. Thanks!
I have been doing ASIC work as part of the administration team for an accountancy firm for the last 7 years. I wish this course was around when I first started. I have found this course to be great in relation to confirming procedures that we currently have in place & some that can improve or introduce in the future. I really liked the checklist templates in the various modules, that will help for things like onboarding/exiting client/ de-registrations etc. I would highly recommend this course to our office for any employees who would like a better understanding of how ASIC works or for new employees who would be taking on the ASIC role. I look forward to seeing how the New ABRS site works especially in relation to duplication of workload. Thanks for the great work in putting this course together.
Thank you so much Viola for sharing your extensive knowledge through this invaluable course. Really appreciate the extra templates and Q&As too. This course is a must for all ASIC Registered Agents. Thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you.
This course was everything that I desperately needed to build on my corporate compliance knowledge. The basics were explained clearly with links to supporting documentation and resources. I will refer back to the power point displays often. The course was clear and focussed. Thank you very much.
I thank you for the opportunity and knowledge this course has given me. I had been trying to research about ASIC and certain subject especially the directors ID but there was never enough information that was clear until this course. I found this course to be very interesting and I have learnt a lot within the course.
This course has been a great investment. In time I hope to implement everything I learned, but, to be honest, implementing just some learned points is a big strive forward for my business. This course will help my clients, which in turn, will help my business. Helping my clients improve their businesses is good business for me. This course has been the best professional development I have done to help my clients in this way.
This business analyst course has been useful in providing some excellent processes to follow. It has also challenged my current way of thinking and given me new ideas of templates, measuring tools and review processes to create a clearer picture for my clients at both the introductory and various review stages. Lastly it has given me a good understanding of how to establish a scope of works and to transparently discuss the cost of it. There is huge benefits we can offer to our clients through business analysis and it is important to be able to explain the long term benefits it will give the organisation to justify the short term cost especially when as per the “J” curve things may go backwards initially whilst employees learn develop and change before the true benefits are seen. I’d like to thank Dale for the course. It was good value for money and there was an excellent response time which was motivating too.
A great course that encouraged me to really consider what’s important to the client. It’s not rocket science, just a clearly defined set of steps that will help me better understand the numbers and add value to client relationships.
I have found this course well structured to introduce me to consulting in financial services analysis. I have gained valuable technical knowledge from the presentation and course materials. I am confident that I can apply what I have learnt in my practice.
Excellent course. The assessments and the marking ensure that you are fully engaged! I feel I have learnt a lot; which I will be using in the future. Thank you.
The course offers a wide range of information relating to the challenges of delaing with advisory engagements and provides you with a number of questions to consider when determining how to improve the services you offer to your clients
I both enjoyed the course and found it very useful in structuring my approach to my one remaining client. It was nice to understand that much of what I have contemplated over the years is not uncommon to many in the Profession. This course emphasised the need to document and formalise the process as well as access as much of the new technology available as possible. Much of the necessary activity by both the Profession and Client would not have been cost effective until recently.
The course is excellent. It provides general understanding on the transformation from accountant to business advisor. The transformation is quite a challenge but the course give practical suggestions. Also the course contains various tools and external resources to help the transformation.
The course provides a very good opportunity to review advisory projects. With a range of financial and non financial tools, it develops the mind set of a business analyst. I personally found it very interesting and useful!
I would highly recommend the business analyst course to any firm. The presentations assist in understanding the issues involved and the assessment questions force you to focus on important work areas you don’t often allocate time for. Having to draft plans and checklists and note what the delivery to clients would involve ensures the participant and their firm are well placed to introduce new services and advice but on a step by step basis. The assessment marking is quick and the feedback is very helpful. The resource guides and workbooks can also be printed and used for future reference.
I found the course clearly set out and thoroughly enjoyed working through the practical tips. I loved how the questions were to be answered directly relating to my business and not just some theory answer. Would strongly recommend the course
Thanks so much for this course! The training has given me confidence to take on 1 significant vCFO project that was agreed for $22k. The second vCFO job only started 3-4 weeks ago, we were lucky in that client approached us for this service. However my study helped me to set the job, explain what was needed and negotiate with client changes of scope. Previously I would have priced this upfront and then tried to sort time overruns later. The fee will be $25K+ annually, so another good win. I feel confident chasing this type of work more and actively speaking to clients about it when we catch up.
Overall I found the course very useful even thought it was generally aimed more at people moving from compliance to advisory rather than someone who has been in it for 30 + years. That said, it is good to go back to basics sometimes and see what’s changed and have your thoughts challenged. Got the most value out of the last 3 sections which included some great information. Also great support material to take away and refer to.
This has been a really great course, both informative and practical
This is a good course for an accountancy firm to get started trying to offer vCFO services.
I found this course very enjoyable and informative. It has certainly given me the confidence to deliver vCFO services going forward
This is a great course giving a lot of useful tips about how to go about setting up a vCFO service and be a vCFO. Overall, great course and have benefited immensely. Thanks
This was a worthwhile course to undertake. It was thought provoking and highlighted the fact that virtual CFO services need to be approached from a different perspective than compliance engagements that tax accountants traditionally undertake (vCFO Advanced).
I thought this course would be comparable to a University lecture. However I was pleasantly surprised the course offers practical and easy to implement tools and systems that will dramatically improve my accounting practice.
Thanks for this; it was a good course and has definitely provided some insights and direction for the next stage and scope of our vCFO services
The vCFO Advanced online course was an excellent add on for my practice. The easy to follow, self paced, 8 module course was perfect for me as I allocated time each week to complete one module. The presenters made it easy to understand the content and the assessment tasks reinforced the learnings from each module. Action tasks were then documented for further follow up. Overall an excellent investment in time and hopefully a very good return on investment as vCFO enagagements are implemented down the track. I was looking for a course that interested and challenged me and I found it!
I have definitely found value in this course. It has made me question and review some of my current processes and has given me ideas of processes to implement to add further value to my clients.
This was very helpful and the best part is the practical approach to getting ready to provide this type of service to my clients. Amazing work!
I have really enjoyed this course. It has enabled me to think about my role within the firm in a different way, as someone who is capable of implementing changes instead of just processing tasks. I have become more proactive in my thinking and now able to challenge myself in my role but also able to challenge my manager and the firm.
This course provided everything we were looking to get out of it for not only our Administration team, but also for our technical team. It was very eye-opening as to what we needed to improve as a firm and I will highly recommend this course to anyone thinking of participating.
This course was not only valuable to the administrative team, but helped the whole firm in developing systems and processes to really manage client relationships and workflow in a proactive way. The SMART actions are a great way to convert theory into practice. Thanks for a great course.
The course was very helpful to me as I learnt a lot about how to become an effective administration services manager. At first it took me a while to finish this course due to the workloads and commitments but while on the process of learning and doing the course I also learn to manage my time and able to accomplish whats needs to be done. Its a very good example of time management. I have now implementing and taking steps of all the things I learned in this course. I would recommend this course to our future admin staff as it is very helpful.
This course has given us a lot of discussion points. It allowed us all to see what we are doing differently and become a more cohesive team. It had many different ideas we hadn’t thought about and allowed us to think outside of the box. We also were able to spend the time together and it enhanced our team relationship. Thank you.
Fantastic course and in depth. The power point slides and source documents were great. It showed how much we already do where I work and in my role. It made me think a lot of what it is I actually do do all day
I found this course to be very informative and in depth it allowed me to consider my involvement in the firm as an admin team member. It provided me with the opportunity to think about things from a larger scale. I ENJOYED THIS COURSE.
.I really enjoyed the course and found the presentations interesting and inciteful. The topics were all very relevant and was great to learn about how the CSA can contribute more to the technical team. Overall a great course!
This course was great. Very easy to pick up and put down when suited. I learn’t a lot, as this is my first position in an accounting firm. Would recommend to anyone looking for a CSA Course.
Fantastic course. You focused on the soft skills which many of us would have simply brushed off as unimportant or “core” to the necessary skill sets / job scope of a traditional accountant. As we gravitate further away from traditional roles, this course has helped me profoundly in identifying possible futures and opportunities in this role.
This course is simply great! The presentation and slides are straightforward for us to understand, but meanwhile it’s highlight things that’s important for us accountants to add value to our client, to our firm and to ourselves. As an accountant who’s been in the industry for 5 years, I still learnt quite a lot from this course. I can imagine how beneficial this is going to be for those who just started their career.
When I first enrolled in this course, I was sceptical, after all what could I learn after already working in public practice for 4 years? I was wrong – this is the most beneficial course I have completed since deciding back in year 12 that I wanted to be an accountant (even more so than my degree or CPA)! It teaches you so many of the basic skills required to operate as efficiently as possible and encourages you to think in new ways and approach difficult situations from a new angle.
A great course that I would recommend others to do. It has worked really well being able to apply/relate it to my firm.
This was a great course for accountants starting out or even up to manager level. It makes you rethink current and new methods of how things can be done more efficiently for client work and administratively.
I enjoyed the course and found it well constructed and well presented. I have taken a lot out of this course to apply to my relationships with clients and there are very similar circumstances with conversations with managers.
I have really enjoyed this course, particularly the layout and content. It has been very easy to navigate and the content has been engaging. Overall a great course and I will be exploring the other courses available.
I have enjoyed working through this course at my own pace and on the online platform. The multiple array of source documents and their different presentation styles means there is something for everyone in the sense of the different learning styles people may possess. The information contained in has been clear and concise and very thought provoking. It has encouraged a deeper thinking and reflection on the practical application of ideas and systems. For me it has highlighted the strengths and weaknesses in the way I perform my job and complete my work and in the way the firm and clients interact as a whole. Additionally it has made me more aware of the bigger impact and the bottom line driving the business as a whole and how my part in that system impacts others. I would recommend this course and in this format, especially for those wanting to improve themselves and their firms.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this course. The videos are very informative and I have learnt a lot. I feel very confident going into my workplace with some strategies to make the workplace a better environment and have those repeat happy customers.
Fabulous course, very enlightening. It all seems just like common sense however going through each of the modules it really puts in place procedures that all interlink for the coaching experiences and approaches that should be used..
Great value in showing how I can give my team responsibility for their role. The 9 coaching questions are invaluable in encouraging my team to come up with solutions and implement them directly.
Team coaching is one of the most overlooked skills of a manager. This course showed me how I can work with my team members to get jobs completed and invoiced in a timely manner. It’s also great for team members to understand that they have responsibility for work delegated.
This course has provided such a wealth of information that will be useful for many years to come. I have implemented many workflow and advisory practices mentioned in this course and have seen results for the business and for me individually. I always thought I would prefer the compliance manager role, however this course has provided me with a desire to move into a more advisory focus. This course has provided me with the confidence to have in depth discussions with clients and has provided me with the tools to grow and develop both professional and personally. I am blown away by the amount of information provided and am really glad I under took this course.
I feel the course raises key points and self reflection for accountants waiting to take the leap to the advisory role. Good course and definitely recommended
This course really made me think outside the square and challenged my thinking in a variety of ways. I have learned so much and have thoroughly enjoyed every part of it.
I have found this course to be terrific to undertake. It has helped me greatly and there is a lot of work to be done next year. Thank you for all your assistance. I would rate this course 10/10.
This course has helped me improve compliance workflow and understanding my roles and responsibilities as a manager. Thank you Dale for all your support.
The course provides a relevant and practical approach to the steps to take to become proactive mangers in the workplace. This starts with evaluating ourselves to highlight those areas of weakness that we can then look to improve with development. It also provides the procedures to build a team at an accounting practice and the tools to manage and evaluate that team. It also highlights the steps required to offer advisory services and the ways to introduce them to your clients.
Undertaking this course has provided me with the opportunity to re-visit my goals and broadened my thought process to see where I need to be and what I need to do to achieve this. The materials provided in the course are very useful and practical and I will be using them to guide me to achieve my goals. I will recommend this course to anyone who would like to take up a senior or managerial position either be in the compliance or advisory role. Thank you Dale for your comments and feedback through the course
Overall, i believe this course is great and is an eye opener for those within the managerial capacity providing services spanning advise and compliance. This course opened my eyes regarding my duties and helped me question the way i manage overall tasks surrounding compliance, managing teams / individuals, freeing up time and task sharing. Looking at ways to outsource, delegate and utilise technology to manage my tasks can afford me the opportunity to focus on customer service (overall), strategy and team management / leadership. Furthermore, this course has helped me realise that investing time in the team now will pay off in the future because they can take the load off my time consuming tasks and therefore afford me the time required to manage overall strategy and the team.
This is a great course for those looking to step up and take the next step in their career, This is a fantastic course for Junior managers that might not have had as much management training as well as those looking to accelerate their Advisory career.
Very helpful for someone starting out in Marketing, and the support from Dale has been top-notch.
This course has been really good, thanks.
This has been just the thing I need to get myself more organised and actually set up a more streamlined firm. I had tried in the past however a lot was still in my brain which needs to come out and onto paper/computer.
Very interesting content, the information provided has been a great help in engaging clients and all aspects of their business.
The course was insightful, and I gained a lot from it. Many helpful tools and strategies to refer to when needed are provided. The comprehensive workbooks and extra material will come in handy also , which I will need to refer to on an ongoing basis. Was very satisfied with the course, and look forward to put everything in to action. It’s on me now
Thanks, this has been a really good course. The content on the course has been excellent and it has highlighted some important issues and helped me with communicating and managing my interactions with my clients during this unusual year. Thanks for giving us extra time, this has been valuable. The powerpoints are great and i have taken many notes and will spend some time taking it all in and focus on the points and areas you have illustrated during the course.
I have felt that all the modules work very well together and flow on from each other. I have learned that it is ok to be outside your comfort zone and that the importance of a client centric focus in the office. After all if we don’t have the ability to exceed the clients expectations then there is no obligation or reason for the client to stay with the firm. The modules in this course have given me the ability to discuss with the other partners and staff a range of ideas that although basis may have been overlooked and underestimated in importance. A very good example of this is that some staff were taking too long to respond to client phone calls and emails, sometimes the clients were ringing just to confirm that the accountant received the email or phone message. We have now put in place an action plan. I can say that I have been refreshed in quite a few points in the course and will aim to put them into practice. I will continue to revise and update my smart action plan.
I enjoyed this course and it was a great refresher for me, there was a bit of duplication between modules however that helped to drive the message home
Well structured and written course with timely responses as you progress through each module
I found that this was a useful exercise. It made me focus on the important issues and has given us all new ideas and tools to move the practice forward. Good and valuable advice.
